After 12 busy, dedicated and effective years at the helm of the Arts and Culture Administration, Micha Yinon announced his retirement, which was effective August 1. In a letter he wrote to the country's cultural institutions, Yinon praised their diversity, accessibility, excellence and cooperation with his office.
Yinon (b. 1942) was trained as a lawyer. He was head of the IBA from 1984-88 and 1992-95, and has also been a member of the governing body of such institutions as the Israel Philharmonic and Bar-Ilan University.
