US dance troupe Momix returns
Moses Pendleton’s marvelous Momix dance company
returns yet again with his latest work. Botanica is based on the relations
between evolution, life and the four seasons of the year. In this performance,
the concept of nature is presented onstage through theater, acrobatics,
pantomime, dance, music, extravagant costumes and a remarkable onstage dynamic.
Together, these elements present the day-to-day and moment-to-moment
transformation of life on earth. For 25 years, Momix has been celebrated for its
ability to conjure up a world of surrealistic images using props, light, shadow,
humor and the human body.

It’s only Axl being Axl
If
you’re planning on attending the Guns & Roses show on July 3 at Hayarkon
Park, you better think twice about wearing a Slash t-shirt. According to reports
in the British media, the band’s management, under the instruction of leader Axl
Rose, instructed all security guards at London’s 02 Arena on May 31 to make
anyone wearing a T-shirt that features Slash to remove the shirt or not be
allowed in the venue.
A security guard told the New Musical Express that
“We were told by the management not to allow anyone into the O2 Arena who is
wearing a Slash T-shirt and we are asking anyone who is to remove it and if they
refuse they will be turned away.”
Attire is only one of the issues facing
G&R fans, as the band started performing at the London show over an hour
later than scheduled. At the Tel Aviv show, also featuring Ugly Joe Kid and The
Yehudim, some precautions are being taken to insure Rose is in a good mood and
appears promptly.
The show’s promoters issued a statement announcing that
they’re building a special fitness room backstage at Rose’s request, featuring
advanced state-of-the-art workout machinery. In addition, the band asked for a
nine-room backstage complex, with each room equipped with a bathtub stocked with
various fragrant soaps. Rose’s room will include a vase filled with 12 roses –
six red and six white.
There will also be separate chiropractor and
massage rooms for the band. No wonder they take their time hitting the stage.

‘Housewives’ star Kathryn Joosten dies LOS ANGELES
(Reuters) – Desperate Housewives actress Kathryn Joosten, who won two Emmy
awards for her supporting role as a nosy neighbor on the recently ended hit
show, died of lung cancer on Saturday, her spokeswoman said. She was 72. She had
battled the disease since being diagnosed in 2001.
Joosten’s gossipy
character often butted heads and occasionally joined in schemes with the main
female characters on the show, Susan, Lynette, Bree and
Gabrielle.
Besides her role as the irritable but often kind-hearted
McCluskey on Desperate Housewives – which she joined in 2005 – Joosten was known
for playing the secretary to fictional US President Josiah Bartlet on The West
Wing, an acclaimed drama program that ended in 2006.
