This Monday (8 p.m.) the Reading 3 venue in Tel Aviv Port will host a fundraiser
show in aid of 27-year-old Yishai Berg, who is waiting to have a second kidney
transplant operation.
Petah Tikva resident Berg first suffered from a
kidney disorder at the age of 17, which prevented him from doing normal IDF
service along with his classmates. Even so, he eventually served in the IDF
Oketz Canine Unit.
However, several years later Berg’s condition
deteriorated and he underwent a transplant operation when he received one of his
mother’s kidneys.
Unfortunately, his body later rejected the kidney and
he now has to undergo dialysis treatment three times a week until he is able to
have a second kidney transplant operation abroad. For this to happen, Berg needs
to raise $150,000 and it is hoped Monday’s show will go some way to making that
possible.
The stars that have agreed to volunteer their services include
veteran rocker Danny Sanderson, hip hop outfit Hadag Nahash, veteran Yemenite
singer Ahuva Ozeri, young Mediterranean music-style crooner Idan Yaniv and
singer-songwriter Ohad Hitman.
Tickets are priced NIS 180 – NIS 600. For
