EXPLORE MIRÓ’S INSPIRATION

A new exhibition at the Israel Museum explores the recurring motif of Joan Miró’s Spanish Dancer . The exhibition takes as its starting point two works: Joan Miró’s Painting (Spanish Dancer), 1927 and his drawing Unti- tled (Spanish Dancer), 1924. The 15 works on display, from the museum’s collection and on loan from international institutions and private collections, draw on symbols and imagery recurrent in Miró’s body of work and are rendered through a profu- sion of artistic styles.

The Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem invites families to go on a treasure hunt that will take them through the museum’s exhibi- tions, ending in the Family Activity Room. The program is appropriate for the Shabbat observant by purchasing tickets in advance.

PARTICIPATE IN THE ART OF SUPPORT

Lehem Veshoshanim (Bread and Roses), a spe- cial art sale for International Woman’s Day, will take place in Tel Aviv. Now in its 10th year, the annual art exhibition raises funds for Ma’an, an organization that promotes fair employment of Arab women in Israel. Some 700 works by some of Israel’s top artists will be sold at a 10 per- cent reduction.
