EXHIBITIONS 2. ANALYZE THE PHOTO
The International Photography Festival in Jaffa Port presents 168 Israeli photographers, 52 international photographers, 30 curators and 11 artists whose aim is to promote the art of photography in Israel from a number of perspectives. This year, the focus is on sustainability in the context of the environment, community and art.

Illustrated Dreams, an interdisciplinary project involving several top Israeli and international artists, is on display at the Jaffa Museum of Antiquities. The artists took part in the international Dream Collecting project created by Roger Omar, a Spanish artist who travels the world documenting children’s dreams for his 150 illustrated dreams project. Another feature of the exhibition is an animated film by Netta Holtzer and Yoav Rodde that explores children’s dreams through science and fantasy.

4. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
Ben-Gurion Boulevard in Tel Aviv will be home to the fourth annual exhibition of tin boxes. The exhibition, an initiative of the Tambour paint company and the Tel Aviv Municipality, presents boxes designed by students from various design schools.
This year’s theme is Home. The boxes were made in limited editions, and all proceeds from the sale will be donated to Designing a Future, a program that helps underprivileged youth study design. There will also be free shows and other attractions.

The new season of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra opens with the first performance of the Concerts in Jeans series. This year, several well-known personalities will host these informal concerts, such as Prof. Dan Shechtman, Shelly Yacimovich and Shlomi Shaban.
Author Eshkol Nevo will host the first concert, featuring pianist Yuja Wang.

Flutist Heftziba Zer-Aviv presents a recital of works from the classical repertoire for flute, as well as some folk tunes played on various flutes, accompanied by pianist Dan Deutch. The concert is Zer-Aviv’s last one here before leaving to perform at Carnegie Hall next month as part of International Women’s Week.

7. MOVE TO THE RHYTHM
International percussionist Ziv Eitan is giving a concert for children and their parents in Latrun. Eitan will talk about Mozart, the role of the conductor, and the connection between electro music and Bach. Presenting his collection of instruments from around the world, Eitan gives a riveting performance that introduces children to the world of music. With Erez Zinger, vocals and guitar.

Boho, a new work by Tamar Borer and Tamar Lam, will be
performed at the Klipa Dance Theater. Boho explores the relationship between
chaos and wilderness, concrete and abstract – an apocalyptic journey to the

9. MUSIC MEET ALICE
The Israeli Opera brings the
production of Alice in Wonderland back to the big stage. The original Hebrew
production for children, composed by David Zebba, was first staged two years ago
and won the hearts of audiences and critics alike.

The Bubble from South Korea returns to take the stage in Jaffa as part of the
Children’s Theater Festival. The colorful show is about a butterfly that tries
to hide from the rain, a little elf that tries to stop his tree home from being
destroyed, and a princess who wants to marry a rebel prince. All of them find
their solutions in the giant magical bubbles.
