Discover the little-known story of the love affair between Franklin D. Roosevelt and his distant cousin Margaret “Daisy” Suckley, in the comedy-drama Hyde Park on Hudson . The events center around the weekend in 1939 when King George VI of England and his wife, Queen Elizabeth, visited the US president’s country estate in Hyde Park, New York. Starring Bill Murray and Laura Linney.

Fatoumata Diawara performs her concert Mali to Paris at the annual International Women’s Festival in Holon. Diawara, who was born and raised in Mali, became a leading international musician with her debut album Fatou in 2011, performing African rhythm combined with contemporary jazz.

Renowned violinist Pinchas Zukerman will be joined by his daughter, soprano Arianna Zukerman, for the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra’s next series, starting Tuesday. On the program are works by Mozart, Mahler, Schubert and more.

Asaf Avidan, I Got the Hotties, Izabo, Marina Maximilian and Shai Dibo will appear in this year’s Take Me to the Riots, the annual rock con- cert for the Dolev Founda- tion, which pro- motes medical rights of the general public in Israel and provides free legal representation to patients struggling with the health system.

EXPLORE MIRÓ’S INSPIRATION


A new exhibition at the Israel Museum explores the recurring motif of Joan Miró’s Spanish Dancer . The exhibition takes as its starting point two works: Joan Miró’s Painting (Spanish Dancer), 1927 and his drawing Unti- tled (Spanish Dancer), 1924. The 15 works on display, from the museum’s collection and on loan from international institutions and private collections, draw on symbols and imagery recurrent in Miró’s body of work and are rendered through a profu- sion of artistic styles.

On view through June 29.

JOIN THE TREASURE HUNT


The Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem invites families to go on a treasure hunt that will take them through the museum’s exhibi- tions, ending in the Family Activity Room. The program is appropriate for the Shabbat observant by purchasing tickets in advance.

9. ART
PARTICIPATE IN THE ART OF SUPPORT


Lehem Veshoshanim (Bread and Roses), a spe- cial art sale for International Woman’s Day, will take place in Tel Aviv. Now in its 10th year, the annual art exhibition raises funds for Ma’an, an organization that promotes fair employment of Arab women in Israel. Some 700 works by some of Israel’s top artists will be sold at a 10 per- cent reduction.

OPEN THE VOICE BOX


The Opera Hour for Children, in the foyer of the Opera House, con- tinues with Mozart’s Magic Box , where two sisters enter a magical forest and discover the world of opera. For ages three to eight.
