There’s nothing like a bowl of steaming soup on a cold winter’s day. Almost every good restaurant and café in Jerusalem has a great soup on the menu, including these five places with soups that are special, satisfying and delicious.
1. Pasta Basta’s lentil soup
Pasta Basta in Mahane Yehuda is the new place to be seen and be seen by the alternative, young and cool crowd. This establishment specializes in pasta and offers one type of soup made on a daily basis from lentils and fresh vegetables. The soup is thick, creamy (though it is parve) and healthy. The plus side is that it’s only NIS 15, making it not only good on the taste buds and waistline, but also on the pocket.
