Tzachi Hanegbi is a former Member of Knesset from the Kadima Party and a former Minister. He served in the Knesset for twenty-two years, holding numerous senior-level and ministerial posts. He served as Minister of Health (1996), Minister of Justice (1996-9), Minister of the Environment (2001-3), Minister of Public Security (2003-4), and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee (2006-10). Hanegbi began his political career with the Likud Party and from 1986 to 1988 was the Director of the Prime Minister's Office, and prior to this, from 1984 to 1986, he served as adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He is a graduate of the Hebrew University in both international relations and law.
