Two men were shot and and killed in Tel Aviv on Wednesday night in what police say is likely a criminal incident.

Police received a report of a car striking a sidewalk bench on the corners of Rehov Gershon and Natan Yalin, and dispatched patrol officers to the scene.

"Officers from the Yiftah station found two gunshot victims inside the vehicle," a Tel Aviv police spokeswoman told The Jerusalem Post.

One man was rushed to the Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv, but died of his injures on the way. The second man was declared dead on the scene after paramedics failed to revive him.

"They were young men in their 30s. One was a resident of Rishon Leziyyon," the police spokeswoman said. "The background to this is likely criminal, but we are examining all possibilities," she added.
