3 killed, 100 injured in southern Egypt protests

Three people were killed and 100 injured in demonstrations taking place in the south of Egypt, AFP reported Wednesday.

Quoting a security official, the report said that police fired live rounds into crouds of protesters when riots broke out in the town of El Khargo.

Protesters responded by burning seven buildings, including several police buildings, a courthouse and a building belonging to the ruling National Democratic Party, AFP reported.
