Five Syrians injured in fighting between government forces and armed opposition members in the Golan Heights near the border with Israel were evacuated by the IDF to Ziv Hospital in Safed on Saturday, the IDF Spokesman's Office stated.

The incident marked the first time that Syrians had been taken to Israel for medical treatment since the uprising against Syrian President Bashar Assad erupted some two years ago.
