Five haredim from the Jerusalem neighborhood of Mea She’arim were arrested Sunday morning after they allegedly tried to vandalize a monument erected in memory of those murdered in a suicide bombing.

Police said they caught the five attempting to yank out the memorial statue for those who lost their lives in the 1996 attack on the No.18 bus.

The suspects, including a minor, were refusing to cooperate with police or explain the reasons behind their alleged actions.
