The Palestinian Authority's plan to seek recognition of statehood in the United Nations this September will not affect negotiations with Israel, PA President Mahmoud Abbas said on Wednesday in Spain.

It doesn't matter what happens in the UN, Abbas said, "we know that we will return to the negotiating table in order to find the best possible solution," Army Radio reported.
