Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday called on Hamas to discuss holding presidential, parliamentary and local elections according to the Egyptian outline of reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas.

Earlier this week, Palestinian sources said that the time for holding local elections will soon be decided, which will be followed by parliamentary elections.

Hamas rejected the idea and said only once a reconciliation agreement would be signed would elections be held.
