Former Shas MK Haim Amsalem said Monday that he will announce his intention to run for the Knesset as the head of an independent party in the upcoming elections on Tuesday.

Amsalem, who broke off from Shas two years ago, formed a party called Am Shalem that focuses on uniting all Jews and restoring moderate Judaism to Israel.

Amsalem stated that he will present his party's platform at the Tuesday press conference as well as some of the members of his party's Knesset list.
