Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom said he hoped for "an end to misunderstandings with the Americans" after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's meeting tonight with US President Barack Obama.

Speaking Tuesday from Sderot, Shalom called relations with the United States "very important," and said Israel needs to continue building after the end of the construction moratorium, and hold direct negotiations with the Palestinians.
