Dozens of Holon residents were evacuated from their homes overnight Wednesday after arsonists ignited garbage bins at seven different spots throughout the city. The bins caught fire quickly and spread near homes, apartment buildings and a kindergarten.

Apparently, the arsonists set the bins on fire, then dragged them toward the entrances to nearby buildings, causing smoke and the stench of burning plastic to fill the air.

No one was hurt, and firefighters later managed to contain the flames.

Police were investigating the incident and searching for the perpetrators, the identities of whom are not yet known.
