Deputy Bat Yam Mayor Uri Buskila was arrested overnight Tuesday on suspicion of accepting bribes from taxi companies in the city.

Buskila's arrest comes a month after Bat Yam Mayor Shlomi Lahiani's arrest amid an ongoing police investigation over suspected public corruption in the municipality.

The deputy mayor will be brought before the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court for a remand extension hearing later on Wednesday morning.
