Beersheba police officers arrested for allegedly planting drugs in suspect's car

Two Beersheba police officers were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of planting drugs in a suspect’s car, the Justice Ministry said Thursday.
The suspect was indicted afterwards for possession of a controlled substance, though after certain evidence cast light on the police story, investigators from the Justice Ministry’s Police Investigative Department opened an undercover investigation of the officers, which eventually led prosecutors to drop the possession charge.
Both of the officers were brought to court in Beersheba for a remand extension on Thursday. There are also two civilian suspects who were arrested in the case.
