Both US Vice President Joe Biden and his Republican challenger on Thursday emphasized the role of their Catholic faith in their personal lives.

Biden hinted that the issue of women's rights, in particular the right to an abortion, would be jeopardized if Mitt Romney was elected president. Ryan said that he would not put the issue of abortion into the hands of unelected judges.
