British Embassy congratulates 2 Israeli citizens being awarded MBEs

The British Embassy on Tuesday congratulated two Israeli citizens who were are being awarded Honorary MBEs by Queen Elizabeth II. The awards were made to Mrs. Sonia Feldman MBE, for services to the promotion of UK Science in Israel and Services to the British Council, and to Mr. Cecil Nathan (Natie) Shevel, for services to strengthening links between the UK and Israel. Feldman will shortly be retiring as the Science Education Manager at the British Council office in Tel Aviv, where she has worked for 37 years, while Shevel is the Regional Director for Israel of the United Jewish Israel Appeal. They were due to be presented with their awards later Tuesday by British Ambassador Tom Phillips. The award of an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) is given for outstanding achievement or service in and to the community, or for local 'hands-on' service which stands out as an example to others.
