British soldier missing in Afghanistan found dead

LONDON - A British soldier who went missing in southern Afghanistan, prompting an extensive search, has been found dead, Britain's Ministry of Defense said on Monday.

The defense ministry said the soldier was from The Highlanders, 4th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

It said the soldier had suffered gunshot wounds, but his exact cause of death was still to be established.
