Two elderly citizens were run-over by cars Thursday morning in separate incidents in Petah Tikva and Kfar Saba, killing one of them, Israel Radio reported.

The deceased victim, an 85-year-old disabled woman in a wheelchair, was killed by a commercial van while she was in the crosswalk on Krul Street in Petah Tikva. The driver in the incident, a 62 years-old Petah Tikva resident, was detained for investigation and released to five days house arrest. The victim's caretaker was not hurt in the accident.

A 73-year-old Kfar Saba man was also seriously hurt on Thursday when he was hit crossing the road in a marked crosswalk early in the morning.
