Ministry of Defense Director-General Major General (Res.) Udi Shani announced that the ministry did not request that the budget be enlarged, on Wednesday.

"The Ministry of Defense did not and will not request an additional budget, as it has not done since the government adopted the Brodet model in 2008," Shani said, referring to the report by the committee to check the security budget.

"Even when we needed additional funds for urgent security matters, the Defense Ministry did not request an addition, rather we asked for advances," he added.

Shani also called the reports that his Ministry is looking to expand its budget "manipulations."
