Drive-by fails to kill witness in Ashdod Port affair

A motorcyclist on Tuesday shot at the car of an important witness in the corruption case against Ashdod Port officials, but failed to eliminate him. The car was also carrying the witnesses' infant son and wife. No one was injured.

In late June,15 suspects from the Ashdod Port were detained – including Union chairman Alon Hassan – and affiliated private companies on suspicion of bribery and corruption deals totaling millions of shekels.

The police have yet to apprehend the assailant in Tuesday's shooting.
