Reform for Studying Driving, slated to go into effect on April 1, was postponed for three months to July 1 due to a "technical reason," a
spokesman for the Transportation Ministry told The Jerusalem Post on
As part of the reform, the minimum driver's license age will drop
from 17 years old to 16 years and 9 months old. However, the plan calls
for extending the period in which new drivers must drive with a licensed
escort from three months to six months.
