Egyptian court rejects Mubarak appeal to unfreeze assets

An appeal filed by ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and his family demanding that a prosecutor's attempts to seize the family's financial assets was rejected by an Egyptian court on Tuesday, The Associated Press reported.

With the appeal out of the way, a criminal investigation into the deposed leader would be able to move forward, according to the report.
