Egypt's army says parliamentary vote to start on time

CAIRO - Parliamentary elections are to go ahead as planned, despite this week's violence accompanying protests against army rule, said General Mamdouh Shaheen, a member of Egypt's ruling army council.




Speaking at a conference on Thursday, Shaheen added that they "will not delay elections. This is the final word."
