CAIRO - New ministers named in an Egyptian cabinet reshuffle will take the oath of office at midday on Thursday, the cabinet said, after a delay that deepened uncertainty over the country's political future.

The investiture will take place at noon local time (1000 GMT), the cabinet said on its Facebook page.

It was delayed after Prime Minister Essam Sharaf was taken to hospital with low blood pressure on Monday as he tried to finalise the new ministerial line-up.

Protesters camped out in Cairo's Tahrir Square have demanded faster reforms and the removal of members of deposed President Hosni Mubarak's party from government.
