Eizenkot officially appointed 21st IDF chief of staff

Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu reached an official agreement to appoint the deputy chief of staff, Maj.-Gen. Gadi Eizenkott, as the twenty first IDF chief of staff on Saturday.

Ya'alon has briefed the current chief of staff, Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz, and Eizenkott, over the decision, as well as the contender for the position of chief of staff, Maj.-Gen. Yair Naveh.
