Elkin: Olmert isn't a consideration in election timing

Coalition leader Ze'ev Elkin said that while he hopes elections are held as soon as possible, he denied that a possible return to politics by former prime minister Ehud Olmert is not a consideration in the timing.

"We should not forget that Olmert left politics not just because of the investigations into him, but also because he was a very unpopular prime minister," he told Army Radio.
