Employment data shows continued improvement

Unemployment numbers in Israel continue to drop, according to a report from the Israel National Employment Service (INES) released on Tuesday.

There was a seasonally adjusted drop of 0.7% in the number of unemployed in February, at 180,500, compared to January, when the figure was 181,800.

The trend began in June, 2009, when the number of unemployed persons in Israel reached 211,500. Since then, there has been a drop of 15% in the number of unemployed.

There was a 14.3% drop in the number of employees laid off, at 12,200, compared with 14,300 in January.
