Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said Wednesday that the Egyptian people are waiting for a different decision than the one [Egyptian President Hosni] Mubarak arrived at, AFP reported. Anti-government protests in Cairo and several Egyptian cities are demanding Mubarak step down, saying that they will accept nothing less than regime change.

Erdogan's statement followed an announcement by the Egyptian president Tuesday night that he would not seek another term in the country's September elections, but insisting he would not step down before then.
