The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office on Thursday asked the court to extend the deadline to submit an appeal on the acquittal of former Kadima MK Tzahi Hanegbi his political appointments case.

The district attorney's request is an exception, and comes following the prosecutors' strike which prevented an appeal from being submitted on time.

Hanegbi was automatically suspended from the Knesset on November 8 when the Jerusalem District Court found moral turpitude in his perjury conviction.
