The Knesset Finance Committee on Monday approved a NIS 246.8 million budget for the 2013 elections.

The 2013 elections budget increased by NIS 40 million from the 2009 elections budget. The jump is due to salary increases, as well as the addition of voting regions and polling stations.

Committee head MK Moshe Gafni called on the Elections Committee to make efforts not to exceed the full amount budgeted.
