A fire that broke out in the basement of Prime Minister Binayamin Netanyahu's Jerusalem Office on Saturday nearly damaged an archive of classified documents located near the area where the blaze started, firefighters who responded to the scene said.

Three teams of firefighters arrived at the scene after they were alerted to the fire by automatic smoke detectors inside the building.

The firefighters were able to contain the blaze and no injuries were reported.
