Over 40 dunams were scorched in a fire near Jerusalem in the area of Beit Zit on Monday afternoon.

Some 250 students were evacuated from the Beit Zit Agricultural School.

Firefighters from Beit Shemesh and Jerusalem were still trying to subdue the flames from burning more of the mountainous, forest area on Monday.

The combination of hot weather and wind made containing the fire extremely difficult, said a Jerusalem Fire Department spokesman.
