A five-car pile-up on Monday afternoon near the town of Motza, which is just outside of Jerusalem, left some 13 people lightly injured as car after car slammed into one another on the busy Route 1 that leads in and out of the capital.

As a result of the accident, traffic was backed-up along the road and heavy gridlock ensued until traffic police were able to clear the vehicles from the thoroughfare and resume the flow of traffic.
