IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz toured military forces stationed in the
south, and said the army was "ready for any decision by the government." The
comments came as prospects for a potential ground offensive grew, following
Hamas's refusal to cease its rocket fire on Israel.
The Israel Air Force
struck 1,300 targets in Gaza since the beginning of the operation last week,
including 80 targets today.
The Iron Dome anti-rocket shield intercepted
306 enemy projectiles heading for city centers, including four interceptions on
Monday over Ashdod.
