Golan farmers on Tuesday morning were beginning to deliver tens of thousands of tons of apples to Syria, via the Kuneitra crossing.

The amount, worth between eight and ten million dollars, marks a record since the Red Cross launched the project five years ago.

Red Cross employees from Kenya will drive the apples over the border over the next eight weeks.
