Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, praising the prisoner exchange deal struck with Israel last week, said that "today we are freeing the prisoners and tomorrow, Al-Aksa," during a sermon in a Gaza Strip mosque on Friday. The Al-Aksa Mosque sits on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Haniyeh added that the Gaza Strip had payed a heavy price for the kidnapping of Gilad Schalit, and that was done to help "the heroes in prison," Israel Radio reported.
