In light of recent escalations in the Gaza region, the Home Front Command issued security guidelines to residents of the Gaza-belt who live at a range of up to seven kilometers from the border with Gaza.

All events planned for children on Saturday were canceled, and adults may only hold events in closed spaces. Residents were advised to keep the windows of bomb shelters shut, and instructed to enter shelters within 15 seconds of the sounding of a siren.
