IDF forces in the the Golan Heights on Wednesday destroyed a Syrian cannon post in return fire after a mortar shell was fired from over the border with Syrian, the IDF said in a statement.
Two soldiers were injured in the incident. One soldier was lightly wounded by shrapnel, and the other suffered from shock.
The IDF said the mortar was stray fallout from the fighting in Syria.
Following the shooting, the army filed a violation with the UN.
