This was not the first time that Israel and the isolated Communist state have met on the ice.

A rare meeting between official representatives of Israel and North Korea was registered in the ice hockey rink in Mexico City on Sunday.
Israel and the isolated Communist state have no diplomatic relations, but that was not apparent in the Group B meeting in 2016 IIHF World Championship Division II action.
Israel claimed an 8-4 win to move to 1-1 after suffering a 6-2 defeat against New Zealand a day earlier.
This wasn't the first time Israel and North Korea have met in the ice rink, with Israel registering a 2-1 win in 2009 while losing 14-2 in 1993.
Israel continues Group B action on Tuesday when it faces Australia before playing Mexico and Bulgaria.
