At the end of the peace process with the Palestinians, Israel will retain control over the Jordan Valley, large settlement blocs in the West Bank and maintain sovereignty over Jerusalem, MK Ofir Akunis (Likud) said Saturday, Israel Radio reported.

At cultural event in Petah Tikva, he said it is possible that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will present a long-term interim agreement to the US Congress in two weeks time when he is already scheduled to be in Washington for the AIPAC conference.

Akunis also estimated that Palestinians would postpone any attempt to settle the conflict.
