All 27 member states of the European Union will abstain from voting on UN recognition of a Palestinian State in September because they cannot agree on a unified stance on the matter, Israel Radio quoted a senior Israeli official as saying on Thursday.

The official added that the US made it clear to the Palestinian Authority that the unilateral statehood push will be answered by real sanctions from Washington, including a halt to financial aid to the PA.
