Some 60 haredi men were clashing with the police and setting trash cans on fire at Jerusalem’s Kikar Hashabat on Sunday night at 8 p.m.

The haredim are protesting the excavation and evacuation of graves they claim are Jewish from the site for Barzilai hospital’s reinforced emergency department in Ashkelon and from the site of the Andromeda construction project in Jaffa.

Police sources said on Sunday they were concerned that the night could see widespread haredi rioting.
