The Knesset Law C'tee on Monday passed a law aimed at preventing boycotts by a vote of 8 to 5.

The law, which adds sanctions to companies that cooperate in popular boycotts, will be transferred to the Knesset for second and third readings.

This past month a boycott of cottage cheese, organized on Facebook in protest of high dairy prices, saw wild popularity among consumers.
