The five kollel managers suspected of defrauding the state of millions of shekels were released on bail to house arrest in Safed on Tuesday. The sixth kollel manager, arrested ten days ago, had been released on bail to home arrest on Friday.

Police believe the men produced fraudulent identity cards to create the appearance of greater numbers of students in their institutions, which receive financial support on a per capita basis from the Education Ministry.

The police investigation continues.
