Libya interim council members won't run for office

PARIS - The members of Libya's interim council will not run for political office for four years, the council's spokesman said on Thursday after an international meeting on the country's transition to democracy.

"We are not going to run for four years, there will be no political role for four years, that's for the NTC," said the spokesman for the National Transitional Council, Mahmoud Shammam.
